Throw out a first gen iPod for your homie!

Steve,
you were the modern day Johnny Cash, the man in denim and black. Maybe you didn't invent all the kickass stuff that we use and like but you were the BASF of technology, you made all the stuff we used better. I had one of the first mp3 players and the damn thing was as big and thicker than a discman and held less than your first gen iPod that came out a year later. The interface was less clunky and I could even fast forward or rewind through a song (not an option on the CREATIVE), but the battery on that thing sucked.

You may have not been the first to create the digital music library or marketplace for music, but you put out the best. Before iTunes, I was rocking WinAmp and stealing alledgedly downloading all my music on Napster, Limewire, Kazaa, etc. But iTunes turned me straight man, and I went legit from that day on yo.

Thanks for an operating system that doesn't crash everyday and for Time Machine, which has saved my ass on more than one occasion.

As it stands right now, you were the greatest innovator of my lifetime and your products have had an immeasurable impact on my life.  Apple was the first computer I touched as a kid and hopefully the last one I touch before I die.

It was a good ride man.
